Update 3/9/2012 CHESPAX Staff
It's March 9, 2012 and the amphibians have been on the move! Loud choruses of spring peepers have been heard on recent nights in several locations. American Toads, Pickerel Frogs and Spotted Salamanders have been observed by MARA volunteers over the past week throughout the county.
On March 1 a Southern Leopard Frog was heard calling from a man-made pond at Annmarie Gardens (Solomons, NW) near Solomons, MD.
Here are a few photos of some Calvert County reptiles and amphibians.
